Vision Thru Art
This is a weekly sculpture class for people who are vision-impaired or blind. The work generated by the class has been accepted into numerous juried exhibits, often winning awards. Since 1988, artist Robert Fluhr has taught the class as a volunteer. He has helped students learn how to express their inner vision through a variety of media including clay, wood, mosaic, stone and mixed materials.
Twelve pieces by Vision Thru Art students are included in the National Exhibit of Blind Artists at the Philadelphia Museum of Art (Education Corridor, 1st Floor) through November 28, 2004. Ron Bryant won First Award in Sculpture for "St. Gabriel," and Kathy Faul won Recognition Awards for "Bride of the North Wind" and "Babette." Click here to see photos of the opening reception and Vision Thru Art students' work. The exhibit will be at the Main Line Unitarian Church from November 30 - January 4 and at the Free Library in March. For more information, contact the Library for the Blind.
