Pre-registration is REQUIRED for all classes.
To register for classes, please use our Online Registration Formor you can print out our form (.pdf) and mail with check, money order or Mastercard/Visa number to the address on the form. If you have questions, call 215-248-0546 ext. 3. Classes will run only if enough students register. If you are registered for a class and it does not run, you will be notified of the cancellation and yur class fee will be refunded. Otherwise, assume the class is running. Please pre-register! Registration deadline for all classes is 3 business days prior to the first class. Please note that some classes are run by third party vendors who do their own registration. Details are provided next to the class information. Material fees are to be paid to the teacher on the first day of class.

Shakespeare for Kids (ages 6-12)
Instructor: Terry Brennan
Imagine your child weilding the words of Shakespeare with wild imagination, confidence and precision. Students learn through movement, soundscapes and word games. The class focuses on speaking skills, self-confidence and reading ability through Shakespeare’s plays. With guidance and encouragement, any child can do it.

Children’s Theater (ages 7-10)
Instructor: Kim Williams Introducing basic acting skills in a fun and lively setting. Children read and act out short stories to develop their confidence and talent. The session culminates with a final workshop performance in the theater for family and friends.

Students learn how to develop and practice skills in drama with and without a script. Shape ideas, learn warm-up techniques and put on a performance of a scripted play. The session culminates with a final workshop performance in the theater for family and friends.

Suzuki and Viewpoints for Actors (adults)
Instructor: Tonia Howick
Take your work and your experience as an actor to another level. Develop strength, stamina, balance and flexibility. Sharpen your perceptive powers, your peripheral vision, and your intuition. Develop a new facility with text. Students learn through strength- and perception-training exercises developed by Tadashi Suzuki’s Toga company ( Japan) and practiced by Anne Bogart’s SITI Company ( New York).

Developing new plays for actors and writers (adults)
Instructor: Tonia Howick
Have you ever wanted to have a role written for you? Learn how to become an essential part of the process of creating new work. Get an insider’s glimpse at what it takes to build a relationship with writers, actors and directors. Work with playwright and director Tonia Howick as she develops a play in preparation for its lab premiere in Minneapolis. Students will participate in strength- and company-building exercises, do voice and breath work, and develop a new ease with text while working and reworking pages that come hot-off-the-printer to class.
