Since its founding in 1953, Allens Lane Art Center has been a cornerstone of the Mt. Airy community by bringing the residents together to participate in and enjoy the arts.  Whether its art classes for children or adults, amazing art exhibitions or cutting edge plays on the mainstage, there is something for everyone at Allens Lane.

For over 63 years, Allens Lane Theater has produced purposeful, challenging, and unique theater experiences centered around contemporary human issues which reflect the diversity and complexity of our community.  Our lineup presents the best in contemporary theater in an unique cabaret atmosphere. An intimate space guarantees that no one is far from the stage. Allens Lane Theater is BYOB
Allens Lane Theater has cabaret style seating at tables, available on a first come-first served basis. Tables seat four but can be reconfigured to accommodate larger groups. Audience members are invited to bring a picnic dinner and beverages to enjoy before the show. The theater does not provide stemware or glassware. The theater does recycle but we encourage ticket holders to take their recyclables with them at the end of the performance.

Full directions by car, train or bus can be found here. Free off-street parking is available near the building. Please note: regrettably, our second-floor theater is not currently wheel-chair accessible and is only accessible by stairs.
