Play Submission/Director Information
Allens Lane Theater Committee (ALT) accepts submissions for plays from February 1 - March 31 each year for the next season. Announcements are also posted on www.theatrealliance.org and in Stage Magazine. The following are criteria for submission:
- All work must be previously published. No new work is accepted for the regular season. (If ALT decides to do another Staged Reading Festival of new work, this will be posted separately in the same timeframe.)
- Please include a resume, prospectus for the play and a copy of the script. None of these items will be returned. The prospectus should include technical needs, special requirements, etc.
- ALT will make decisions on play selection based on internal criteria such as appropriateness with our mission, ability to support technical and set needs, tone as it relates to rest of plays under consideration to create an interesting season, availabliy of rights and experience and/or vision of the director.
- Prospective directors may be asked to attend and interview with members of ALT to discuss their vision for the proposed play.
- Directors will be contacted by June 1 of that year whether their play is chosen or not.
