Five divergent paths together in one exhibit--Exquisite Forms examines the realms of Fiber Arts from the folk to conceptual and many layers in between.  Four of the artists presented take quotidian and found materials rendering them into precious objects, while the fifth artist translates a fantastical world of human and animal forms into tapestries. This exhibit reflects the artists’ influences from crafts attributed to women’s work to African, Asian and European sensibilities.

Join us at Allens Lane Art Center's Satellite Gallery at Settlement Music School in Germantown as we celebrate the beautiful artwork of Philadelphia-based artist Jean Plough. Come see her expressionistic and lively paintings that are sure to please the senses. There is a free reception on April 19th at 2pm following a concert recital in the performance space of the school.

Alan Turing was an eccentric genius who played a major role in winning the Second World War by breaking the complex German code called Enigma. He was also the first person to conceive of what was to become the modern-day computer. Following the war, he was arrested, tried, and convicted for breaking yet another code - the British law that declared homosexuality to be a crime.
