General Gallery Information
Allens Lane Gallery mounts exhibits by local artists each season from September through June. They include various media such as painting, sculpture, photography and mixed materials. Each show opens with a wine and cheese reception. See the schedule for this year’s exhibits.
In June/July of each year, the Center reviews submissions and chooses exhibits for the coming season. To be considered for a show, interested artists should submit 3-4 photographs that are representative of the work they intend to show and a resume or artist statement to the address at bottom of page by June 1st. Photographs will not be returned until September. Decisions are not based on when materials are received (i.e. early submissions are not given priority).
Artist Database Project We are creating a database of artists in our main service area - Mt. Airy, Chestnut Hill and Germantown (to start). If you are a visual artist, please send the following information to artists@allenslane.org for inclusion in this database:
Name Address (include zip code) Phone number(s) Email address Website (if it includes images of your work) Description of work (please be brief, e.g. sculpture using found objects or oil paintings of landscape, portrait and still life)
Please do not send digital or hard copy images at this time. We will contact you when we are prepared to accept these. The database will be used as a directory; more information about its use and publication will be forthcoming. If you have questions, please send them to artists@allenslane.org. If you do not have email, please send information to: ALAC Artists, 601 W. Allens Lane, Phila. PA 19119.
