Camp Staff

This is Horace Rooney's fifth year as Camp Director and ninth year on the senior staff. He is an English teacher at Simon Gratz High School, and he has many years experience at summer and after school programs. Assistant Director Asha Rooney is in her fifth year at the camp. Before working at Allens Lane, Asha spent nine years in the accounting and finance department at the University of Pennsylvania. All camp counseling staff are selected for their maturity, responsibility, experience and sensitive understanding of children. Art, ceramics, dance and drama are taught by professionals. Red Cross certified instructors supervise swimming. Each year, two-thirds of our staff returns. Many of our matriculated campers return to become staff.
